- Pathway 1: Lesson Turn a PowerPoint into an online lesson with a quiz that grades itself in D2L. Button: Open KQ Lessons. This page.
- Pathway 2: Live quiz Build a quiz game your class plays live on their phones, in class or on Zoom. Button: Open KQ Live. Page 2.
- Pathway 3: Board Build a class board with a timer, a Q&A question, and a Mood Board. Button: Open KQ Board. Page 2.
Pathway 1Make a lesson from a PowerPoint
Bring a short .pptx file. No account needed.
Build the lesson
- Go to knowledgequeststudio.org and click Open KQ Lessons.
- Click File, then Import PowerPoint…, and choose your .pptx file. Your titles, text, and images become lesson slides.
- Click each slide in the Manage Slides list to check it. If the editor says no Welcome slide was found, click Add Slide, choose Title Slide, and drag it to the top.
- Click Add Slide, choose Multiple Choice, and click Add Slide. Type a question and its answers, then click the circle next to the correct answer. Click Add Question for more.
- Click Add Slide, choose Results Slide, and drag it to the bottom of the list.
- Click Preview and take the lesson the way a student would.
- Click Publish to LMS. Set Target LMS to D2L Brightspace, then click Publish to D2L Brightspace. A .zip file downloads. Do not unzip it.
The Results slide must be last. It sends the quiz score to the D2L gradebook. Without it, no grade posts.
Keep a copy: Save (Ctrl+S) keeps the lesson in this browser. For a copy you can move, open the download menu next to Publish to LMS and choose Save Backup ZIP.
Put it in D2L (New Content Experience; a practice course is best)
- In your course, click Content.
- Click Add Existing, then SCORM/xAPI Object.
- Click Bulk Upload and upload the .zip file.
- Follow the wizard. If you want the lesson graded, add a grade item when it asks.
Before students see it: take the lesson as a test student and check Grades for the score.
